I have been working in water management issues for more than a decade now. I have two alma maters: Universidad Central de Venezuela in Caracas, and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. I have bee in the U.S. since 1981, but I have been lucky enough as to keep in touch with my latin roots through my work in several Latin American countries.
My professional interests include information systems integration for water projects, strengthening of the Inter-American Water Resources Network, and enticing people to form cluster groups within the wide world of water (another 'www'...) Also, I am involved with a Venezuelan water policy group that is discussing the role of water in the sustainable development of the country... Sounds big, but the fact is that there is some much to do there... So, if you are interested in these issues, contact me. I need your help!
Currently, I coordinate the Latin American Programs for the Florida Center for Environmental Studies in Palm Beach Gardens. I have been in the CES team since its inception in late 1994. This means that Len Berry is a very patient man. My flagship project nowadays is the Everglades-Pantanal Intiative (EPI, click above on my homepage to learn about it!)
I have three wonderful kids (they all like water!) and my significant other is Maria do Carmo Zinato (who also likes water! I have watered family!) I live between Boca Raton, Florida; Maturin, Venezuela; and Belo Horizonte, Brazil... For that reason, my e-mail is more reliable than the phone (Thanks, Al! The Internet is great!) |
