The full title of Working Group 4 is "Opportunities for collaboration in meeting information needs through public and private partnerships." Increasingly, public agencies must work together to share information and knowledge about natural resources and the functioning and management of ecosystems. This is epecially true where resources are shared between countries. Similarly, there are opportunities for the private sector to work with the public sector to obtain some of the needed information to improve resource management for the benefit of all. Yet, politics, policy, and cultural issues present obstacles for rapidly moving forward with bold initiatives.
This working group will examine these opportunities and develop recommendations for moving ahead.
