The establishment of this working group on educational and professional development opportunities reflects the Program Committee's belief that the Internet provides new opportunities for combining distance learning and "virtual learning centers" with the more traditional fixed site training centers, courses to train trainers, mobile teams of trainers, extension service types of information delivery, and formal university-types of courses. This working group will review current activities and plans of various organizations to provide such training to support integrated land and water resources management and recommend how such activities might be cordinated.
While "discussion leaders" have been nominated for the various working groups, all interested parties are invited to participate in these discussions in preparation for the Third Water information Summit in Miami, November 3-5, 2000.
